Pistons aren’t moving to Pittsburgh

I never viewed this as a serious possibility, and hopefully you didn’t, either. Just in case, Mike Ozanian of Forbes gives more evidence the Pistons won’t move from Detroit:

"This is not going to happen because NBA commissioner David Stern knows full well that despite Detroit’s battered economy and the decline of the franchise both on the court and financially, the Motor City has better long term prospects for a basketball team than Pittsburgh.Detroit’s metro area is about 70% bigger than Pittsburgh’s, giving the city a bigger television audience and more opportunities for sponsorship revenue. Detroit is not going to rebound overnight. But the auto makers have been increasing advertising spending, with Chrysler saying it will increase advertising by 68% this year, and Ford Motor and General Motors also looking to boost spending in 2011."
