First of all, if you are a NBA fan and aren’t checking out some of the fantastically artistic stuff they guys at Hoopism have been doing this season, you should be. It’s easily one of my favorite sites.
Their latest post looks at social media and the NBA, ranking the official twitter pages of all 30 teams and ranking the top 100 players on Twitter using their Klout scores (that link will explain how, exactly, that score is calculated, but if you don’t feel like reading, it is a pretty sophisticated and respected measure of social media ability).
The Pistons had a few players make it into the top 100, including Ben Gordon leading the way at No. 10. Tracy McGrady was ranked 37th and Charlie Villanueva was ranked 77th. I was a bit surprised that Greg Monroe or Austin Daye didn’t make it into the top 100 as both of those guys are pretty active, but this is only the second most disappointing ranking of the week involving Monroe.
The official Pistons Twitter feed, meanwhile … well, that didn’t do so hot, ranking 30th among the 30 NBA teams, so go help them out by following them and re-tweeting some of their posts. And while you’re at it, follow PistonPowered and Patrick Hayes on Twitter. And you might as well like our Facebook page too.
