Austin Daye, Tayshaun Prince among players confirmed for Vegas 'Competitive Training Series'

The rumored series of workouts and games featuring many NBA players in Las Vegas appears close to coming to fruition. Paul Coro of the Arizona Republic recently talked to Jared Dudley, one of the players involved, and has a list of participants that includes Tayshaun Prince and Austin Daye:

Dudley said the field of players will include Stephen Curry, Chauncey Billups, Al Harrington, John Wall, Zach Randolph, Stephen Jackson, Tayshaun Prince, Jermaine O’Neal, Austin Daye, DeMar DeRozan,Kyle Lowry, Eric Maynor and J.J. Hickson. Dudley said he is trying to recruit teammates Channing Frye, Josh Childress and Aaron Brooks to also play in the officiated series.

The games are slated to begin Sept. 12 and run through Sept. 23. For Daye, it’s another example of what seems to have been a productive offseason training with top competition for him. For Prince, it’s an opportunity to get himself in great shape as he prepares to hit the free agent market. For fans, hopefully there is a way to get the games on TV or the internet so we can actually watch some basketball.
