Ben Gordon, “more than anything,” was responsible for the surge, Prince said.
“The reason why I say that because he hasn’t been here,” Prince said. “For him to be in the huddle at the beginning of the game, it put a smile on everybody’s face. And when Will Bynum ran out, even though he didn’t play, when we were going through our warm-ups, I think guys were a little more ready because they had their brothers with them today.”
Tayshaun Prince hasn’t always been the most respectful toward his younger teammates, and some have speculated that Prince harbors ill will toward Ben Gordon for pushing Richard Hamilton out of Detroit. It’s nice to read another example of Prince becoming a more positive influence on the Pistons’ chemistry.
