Tragic news being reported by the Atlanta Journal Constitution and others right now:

"Former Hawks All-Star Dan Roundfield drowned yesterday off the coast of Aruba, according to an awe24.com report. The report said Roundfield’s wife became distressed while swimming at Baby Beach and Roundfield tried to assist her. His body was found an hour later, according to the report. The Aruba Herald reported that witnesses saw the woman return to shore but that Roundfield was taken out to sea. Roundfield’s body was found under some rocks, the Herald reported. The couple were vacationing at the Renaissance Resort."

Roundfield was an All-Star three times during his career and made several all-defense teams. He only played one season with the Pistons, but is a key figure in their history — he was the player Detroit sent to Washington in exchange for Rick Mahorn.

He was a great college player at CMU and a great high school player in Detroit. Prayers certainly go out to his family.
