Will Bynum and Jose Calderon Lead Detroit to Victory Against Washington

Well, the Washington defense dared the Pistons point guards to score. Will Bynum and Jose Calderon answered the call. The two combined for 44 points to beat the Wizards, who were winners of 4 straight coming in. Beyond that, Greg Monroe put in solid work. The rest of the team wasn’t too spectacular, and the same could be said for any Washington player not named Emeka Okafor. Wall was decent passing the ball, but didn’t score very efficiently. In the end, it was a battle of teams that are probably going to watch the ping pong balls during the draft.

Let’s get into the grades:

Greg Monroe: Greg was ste… Blah blah blah. Greg put together a similar game to the last 7. He featured the usual double-double, assists, and steals. Don’t trade him for Josh Smith. Please. Player Grade: B+

Jose Calderon: Calderon’s play was sublime. Jose didn’t have his typical assist total, but his scoring was very potent. Washington made Jose beat him with his scoring, and Jose sure did. Player Grade: A

Will Bynum: What didn’t Will Bynum do above his expectations tonight? First legitimate A+ of the year, at least I believe. Player Grade: A+

Jason Maxiell: Jason Maxiell is turning into the invisible man, I have no memory of what he did. (Checks Box Score) Oh, I guess he really didn’t do anything. Player Grade: D

Kyle Singler: Singler was alright. Nothing special, nothing that diminished the team. Player Grade: C+

Brandon Knight: See Singler, Kyle. Player Grade: C

Charlie Villanueva: Charlie V played pretty decent. I would take this over some other efforts. Player Grade: B

Viacheslav Kravtsov: If he can stop fouling he could have a nice role. That is a huge if though. Player Grade: C

Washington Wizards: Bradley Beal was a lot of fun to watch in the first half, but struggled the second. Emeka was good, but he definitely was not enough. Wall was good as a facilitator, but didn’t score well. Nene wasn’t that active but he was good when he was. Everything else wasn’t that great. Team Grade: D+
