Why Viacheslav Kravtsov ranks No. 12

Of the three Pistons who’ve played less for the team than Jose Calderon this season, Viacheslav Kravtsov is the only one with more than a minimum contract. That definitely limits his value. The extra money might have been necessary to sway him to come to America, but now that he’s here, teams will see that his salary as a bit high.

Kravtsov went undrafted in 2009, so other teams had plenty of opportunity to pursue him before the Pistons did. So far, Kravtsov hasn’t proven the rest of the NBA was unwise to sleep on him.

However, Kravtsov has made 15-of-19 shots, and that’s pretty intriguing. Kravtsov must produce over a longer sample to have any real value.
