Lawrence Frank returns to Pistons

Vincent Goodwill of The Detroit News:

"Pistons coach Lawrence Frank was back with his team Monday after missing six games dealing with his wife’s serious health issue."She had to have major surgery and it’ll be a long recovery," Frank said after morning shootaround before a game against the Brooklyn Nets. "It was critical that I had to be there for my wife and kids. It’s a helpless feeling.""

First of all, glad to hear Lawrence Frank’s wife has progressed.

Secondly, this should make the Pistons better. Say what you will about Frank’s coaching ability – and I suspect many of you will – but the Pistons’ struggles were augmented by missing a coach, especially their head coach. This is Frank’s team, and at the moment, they’re better off trying to play Frank’s way than hastily adjusting to some Brian Hill-infused version of that plan.
