Left in the shadow of the “Josh Smith To Detroit” headlines is the start of the Orlando Summer League, which tips off tomorrow at the Orlando Magic’s practice facility. The Pistons head to Orlando with new coach Mi Cheeks, as they compete in the first ever Orlando Summer League Playoff starting Sunday morning. The Orlando Summer League is from July 7-12 and will be hold its championship game on the final day.

The Pistons Summer League line-up will not include young Pistons Greg Monroe, or last years starting point guard of the summer league squad Brandon Knight. Kyle Singler will also be sitting out this year, as his younger brother E.J. Singler, from the University of Oregon will try to make his mark on the NBA this year in the Orlando Summer League.

– July 7: Detroit vs. Brooklyn 5:00 P.M. ET
– July 8: Detroit vs. Boston 3:00 P.M. ET
– July 9: Detroit vs. Oklahoma City 1:00 P.M. ET
– July 11: Detroit vs. Miami 1:00 P.M. ET
All of the following games will be aired live on NBA TV, as well as on NBA Summer League Broadband. The Pistons will also be playing a “playoff” game on July 12th at an undisclosed time. This will be the first chance for Piston fans to get a look at lottery pick Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, as well as other draftees Tony Mitchell and Peyton Siva. Detroit will be bringing back last year’s rookies for Summer League as well; Andre Drummond, Khris Middleton, Kim English, and Viacheslav Kravtsov are all expected to participate in this years Summer League.
