– Villanueva has taken a HUGE drop off in talent ever since his arrival in the Motor City. Villanueva was coming off a career year in Milwaukee in 2009, posting career highs in points (16) and rebounds (8) during the 08-09 season. Charlie never lived up to the expectations set out for him by Joe Dumars or Villanueva’s hefty contract that will now pay him $8.5 million this year. Luckily, this is the last year on his deal, and is actually a valuable trade commodity with his $8.5 million expiring contract.

Charlie will most likely be playing a minor role for the 2013-14 Pistons, if he is even on the roster come October. Charlie averaged 5 points less than his career average of 11.8 points per game last season, while playing nearly 16 minutes a game. Charlie also shot a career worst, 55% from the free throw line this year, down from 78% the season before.
