2012-2013 Record: 41-40

Additions: Marshon Brooks, Keith Bogans, Kris Humphries, Kelly Olynick, Gerald Wallace, Vitor Faverani, Brad Stevens (HC)

Subtractions: Jason Terry, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, Kris Joseph, Doc Rivers (HC)

– After dealing future Hall of Famers Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett to Brooklyn, the Celtics have officially moved on from the team that brought home championship number 17 for the Boston faithful. Boston got almost nothing worth value out of the deal as well, except some cap relief. The received an aging veteran in Gerald Wallace (and his massive contract), Keith Bogans, who is coming off a torn ACL in 2011-2012, Kim Kardashian’s ex Kris Humphries, and the only player with some value, Marshon Brooks.

To add to the little additions received in the Garnett-Pierce deal, the Celtics might be without star point guard Rajon Rondo to start the 2013 campaign. Rondo tore his ACL in an overtime contest against Atlanta late in the 2012-2013 season.

Boston also will be without longtime Celtics coach Doc Rivers, as he was essentially traded to the Los Angeles Clippers for a protected future first round pick. Although Celtic fans have had a rough offseason, there are still bright spots in the remaining roster not named Rajon Rondo. The Celtics look to have a steal in recent draft pick Kelly Olynick, as he surprised everyone with his outstanding play during the Orlando Summer League.

Danny Ainge also still has some quality young talent in forward Jeff Green, combo guard Avery Bradley, and big man Jared Sullinger. Celtics are definitely a sleeper team to make a run at the playoffs next year if Rondo can come back soon, and help out right away.

2013-2014 Prediction: 33-49
