If the Pistons don’t believe they are a winning team once the trade deadline rolls around, then they will have a decision to make with Chauncey Billups.
Billups, who signed a two year deal with the Pistons in the off-season, has struggled to see the court this season, due to injuries.
But even unhealthy, Billups proves to be very valuable for the Pistons. While in his suit, he is still in the huddle, talking to teammates on the bench, and being a leader.
There are a lot of contenders that could use everything that Billups brings to the table. And Billups may want to bring his services to a contender, being that he is in the final stages of his career.
At the end of the day, it will most likely be Billups say on whether or not he’s traded. If he sees the Pistons aren’t in a winning position and seeks a late run at a championship, then he will most likely be traded. There is also a strong possibility, regardless if the Pistons are in a winning position or not, he could stay with the team.
It’s just something we all have to wait and see, come February 20th.
