Pistons vs. Nets: Deron Williams Presence Won't Make Things Easy For The Pistons

Remember when the Brooklyn Nets were projected to be a “championship caliber” team?

Unfortunately, the entire world had to hear about that over the whole summer after the additions they had made. They went out and hired Jason Kidd as their head coach, traded for Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, and they already had one of the top point guards in the league in Deron Williams

Things haven’t worked out for the Nets, as a lot of people expected. Jason Kidd has proved that no matter how great of a player you are on the court, being a coach off the court is a whole different animal. Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce both proved that they’re on the back ends of their careers. And Deron Williams still cannot catch a break with injuries.

However, a lot has changed since the Pistons defeated the Nets on November 24th. Their assistant coach, and former Pistons head coach, Lawrence Frank was re-assigned. There is still nothing to report on that. They have also won four of their last eight games, winning their last three games in a row.

It should be interesting to see what the Pistons can do against a momentous Nets team. Another thing that is interesting is that the Nets will be with Deron Williams, who didn’t play on November 24th against the Pistons. That reason, alone, could be what pushes the Nets to winning tonight’s game. But the pressure may be most on the Pistons, who look to try and avoid their fourth loss in a row.
