Now that it’s official that Stan Van Gundy will coach the Pistons, the real fun begins. There is no doubt that the Van Gundy family has one of the deepest coaching trees in the NBA. It’s impressive how much success assistants have had recently, that either played or coached under both Stan and Jeff.

SVG could target veteran coaches that he has worked with over the years, young up and comers he believes in, and even might possibly consider keeping coaches on the staff to help in the transition to becoming a playoff contender right away.

The coaching staff might be just as important as it’s head coach and there are some really interesting names that could make their way to the Motor City.

Here are some names to keep in mind as the hiring process begins later this week. If we forgot any, make sure to leave your thoughts in the comments.
