Kentavious Caldwell-Pope gets six All-Rookie votes
By Dan Feldman
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope didn’t have the best rookie year, but who did?
Seriously. Who did?
Try naming 10 rookies with better seasons in 2013-14 than Caldwell-Pope. I found 10, though it wasn’t easy. In this down rookie class, Caldwell-Pope deserved serious All-Rookie second-team consideration (at least as seriously as you can take All-Rookie second team, which in my case, is way too seriously).
In the end, Caldwell-Pope received six second-team votes, ranking him 18th and off either team. He got votes from:
- Israel Gutierrez ESPN.com
- Jeff McDonald San Antonio Express-News
- John Reid New Orleans Times Picayune
- Ken Berger CBSSports.com
- Mike Monroe San Antonio Express-News
- Ted Davis WTMJ Radio (Milwaukee)
With Andre Drummond, Kyle Singler, Brandon Knight, Greg Monroe and Jonas Jerebko, this ends a four-year run of Pistons making an All-Rookie team. Maybe Detroit can start a new streak next season.
RAGE.
