Andre Drummond makes all his shots in World Cup opener
By Dan Feldman
Andre Drummond didn’t make a mark until the fourth quarter, but in his late role, he did all he could.
The Pistons center shot 4-for-4 and scored nine points with four rebounds in 10 minutes, all during the final period of Team USA’s 114-55 win over Finland in its World Cup opener.
Drummond’s performance likely won’t earn him more playing time – nearly everyone played well in the blowout – but it helps show his focus, even when left out of the rotation. That could help him earn a spot on future Team USA squads, including maybe the Olympics.
