Injured Will Bynum still hasn’t run Pistons’ new offense

Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press on Will Bynum:

"Bynum tweaked his injury on the first day of camp.“Will’s still nursing that hamstring,” Van Gundy said. “He’s started to do a little more shooting and things like that, but he hasn’t even run through offense with us or anything, at this point.”"

As a reminder, the Pistons have 16 players with guaranteed contracts. They’ll have to waive at least one of those players before the regular season – at least two if Hasheem Thabeet makes the roster over Aaron Gray, who is out after a heart episode.

Could Bynum miss the cut?

The Pistons have Brandon Jennings, D.J. Augustin and Spencer Dinwiddie at point guard. Jennings has earned praise from Stan Van Gundy, and Augustin – unlike Bynum – was signed by Van Gundy. Dinwiddie is getting healthier, too.

The more time Bynum misses, the more likely he is to begin the season out of the rotation – and maybe off the roster.
