Pistons assign Tony Mitchell to D-League

"The Detroit Pistons announced today that the team has assigned forward Tony Mitchell to the team’s NBA Development League (D-League) affiliate, the Grand Rapids Drive."
It seemed Spencer Dinwiddie would be headed to the D-League, but with Brandon Jennings’ injury, Mitchell beat him to Grand Rapids.
Mitchell has yet to play this season, and he barely played last season. His contract is fully unguaranteed for next season, and it’s difficult to see the Pistons keeping him beyond this year. But if he has a chance to stick, it begins with getting some burn in the D-League and going from there.
