Losing to Pistons apparently got Michael Malone fired by Kings

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports:

"Sacramento has fired coach Mike Malone, league sources told Yahoo Sports."

"Despite star DeMarcus Cousins missing past nine games, Malone didn’t meet win-loss expectations of ownership, sources tell Yahoo."

Malone’s last game? Losing to the Pistons on Saturday.

Apparently, that result was just intolerable to the Kings’ brass.

Michael’s father, Brendan, is a Pistons assistant. If the younger Malone is looking for a job as an assistant, I’d take him in Detroit in a heartbeat. No matter what ridiculous expectations his bosses had, he was doing a really nice job in Sacramento this season.
