Final. 104. 29. 105. 64

Andre Drummond — A
After a quiet first quarter Drummond helped key the Pistons’ comeback. He owned the boards (17) and looked really strong on the pick and roll with D.J. Augustin in the second half. His free throw shooting late left something to be desired and his late illegal screencast great, but he was great otherwise.

Greg Monroe — B
The Pistons fed Monroe early and often in the first quarter and he responded with 12 of his 17 points. Playing time was hard to come by in the second half as Stan Van Gundy rode Anthony Tolliver, but despite struggling some with Tim Duncan, Monroe looked good. I wish he would have played more in the second half, but alas, a win is a win — I’m sure he’d agree.

Kyle Singler — B-
He didn’t log a ton in the books with just three points and three rebounds, but Singler played a smart game on both ends. I liked his defense on Many Ginobili and he came up with two steals.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope — B-
For a guy who couldn’t get out of his own way in the first half, Caldwell-Pope responded with a strong second half. He got lost a few times guarding Danny Green but made up for it with a number of nice driving scores late.

Brandon Jennings — B+
It’s Brandon Jennings’ world and we’re just living in it. Jennings more than made up for a regression-to-the-mean night shooting with his banking floater with 0.1 to go. I thought Jennings played a decent game outside his 5/18 shooting. The Spurs actually game planned against him and it showed, but despite a few iffy decisions down the stretch he saved the day with the big shot at the end.

Jodie Meeks — B
Meeks joined Jennings in a regression game, but Meeks was still productive despite his shot not falling. He took the ball to the basket a lot — specifically in the second half — and got to the line five times. Even in a blah shooting game, he was huge for the Pistons.

D.J. Augustin — B+
Started slowly just like the rest of the team, but Augustin channeled his inner-Will Bynum on some of those pick and rolls with Drummond in the third and fourth quarters. He had the Spurs on a string with the option to lob it or float up a shot.

Jonas Jerebko — B
Another solid outgoing for Jerebko, who has slid in nicely as the first big off the bench for the Pistons. He played with effort, made smart plays with the ball and even committed smart fouls a few times to stop easy dunks. His 3-pointer inn the second quarter helped keep the Pistons above water when the Spurs appeared to be piling on.

Anthony Tolliver — B-
I said this during the game, but Tolliver has given the Pistons more than anyone could have expected in the early going. He missed all of his shots from deep and had some iffy fouls late, but his effort has been great and being a threat from deep has opened up the offense. His fastbreak putback plus the foul in the second half was massive.

Caron Butler — C
Butler didn’t shoot well, but he also didn’t do anything to really hurt the Pistons. If Singler is playing sound like he was tonight, you won’t see as much Butler as usual.

Joel Anthony — I
He helped “form a f*cking wall” on the final defensive play.

Stan Van Gundy — A-
Talk about a turnaround. The Pistons looked lost defensively and out of sorts offensively. But, slowly, they fixed their defensive ills and started scoring off that defense. The Pistons have developed a knack for rallying. I don’t know why that is, but they seem to have a different attitude now when the going gets tough. Credit SVG for instilling that. Also credit him for not calling a timeout after the Pistons got that final steal. He trusted Jennings to make the right decision with 5-6 seconds left and it paid off. The Pistons have now won six in a row heading into Dallas tomorrow and are just 3.5 out of the No. 8 seed.
