Nakia Hogan of The Times-Picayune:

"The New Orleans Pelicans will be without point guard Jrue Holiday tonight when they play the Detroit Pistons"

It’s not all bad news for Brandon Jennings today.

The Pistons point guard has been on an absolute roll, averaging 20.3 points and 7.0 assists per game since Detroit released Josh Smith. Freed from Smith’s shadow, Jennings has driven the Pistons’ turnaround.

But Holiday is one of the NBA’s top defensive point guards. The way Jennings has played lately, it wouldn’t matter, but better safe than sorry.

Look for Tyreke Evans to play point guard more, and recently signed Nate Wolters should also get minutes. Wolters helps, but backup point guard has been a huge weak spot for the Pelicans. Losing their starter to injury accentuates the problem. This puts the Pistons in much better position tonight.
