Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press:

"The Heat has shown interest in Singler."

Not long ago, the Pistons were discussing a Norris Cole trade with the Heat. Miami wanted to dump Danny Granger – who has a $2.077 million player option for next season – onto Detroit, but the deal went nowhere.

John Lucas’ strong play probably tempers the Pistons’ interest in Cole, and a Kyle Singler-for-Cole trade is neither CBA-permissible nor wise for Detroit. But the Heat’s interest in Singler, who will become a restricted free agent this summer, is worth monitoring if the teams discuss a pre-deadline deal.
