Piston Powered has released their MVP rankings for week five of the 2015-16 NBA season. Take a look and see where your MVP favorite lands this week.

The NBA’s MVP rankings have taken some unexpected twists this past week due to some surprises across the league. Blake Griffin’s Los Angeles Clippers seem to be in free-fall, James Harden and his Houston Rockets are still unable to get a win vs just about anybody, and the Cleveland Cavaliers have had a bit of trouble stringing together wins after their hot start.

On the other side of things, the Oklahoma City Thunder are back to full strength with the return of Kevin Durant, who seems like he didn’t miss a step in his two-week absence resulting from a hamstring injury. Russell Westbrook held things together while Durant was out, but the most dynamic duo in the NBA is whole once again.

A new name has emerged on the list, and it’s a name that carries with it an element of surprise. Paul George has returned from a devastating broken leg a year ago that he suffered in camp with Team USA, and somehow he’s better than ever. George is posting crazy numbers this young season while the red-hot Indiana Pacers are winning right and left after their own slow start to the season.

As a result of these seismic shifts across the league, there are familiar faces from the first few weeks of these NBA MVP rankings that are notably absent this week.

Let’s take a look across the league and see just who falls where in the rankings.
