The Detroit Pistons’ draft process is underway and with the NBA combine starting today, it’s time to take a look at prospects who could become Pistons in the upcoming draft.

The Detroit Pistons may be picking 18th in the NBA draft this year, but there are going to be a lot of prospects that can contribute from day one. Others will be long-term prospects that could have a role.

The point here is that there is plenty of talent (despite this draft class being defined as “weak”) that will likely be on the board around the time the Pistons’ pick.

With that said let’s jump into our pre-combine watch list.

There are 63 prospects participating in the NBA combine. Some of those prospects aren’t worth mentioning, because they won’t be around when the Pistons make their selection.

30 of those prospects will likely be second round players. For this article, we will be focusing on the first round candidates that have a chance to be a Pistons–the others will be tackled on another article at a later date in the offseason.

List of player participants:

Notable players not attending or declined:

Ben Simmons, LSU
Domantas Sabonis, Gonzaga
Dejounte Murray, Washington
Dragan Bender (Maccabi Tel Aviv)
Furkan Korkmaz (Anadolu Efes)
