The Detroit Pistons had an opportunity to move up into the lottery via the Sacramento Kings at pick 13. The Pistons declined.

The Detroit Pistons could have moved up into the lottery via the Sacramento Kings at pick number 13. The Pistons didn’t bite.

I’m glad the Pistons didn’t move up–there was no reason to. Pick number 13 started the next tier of players with Ben Simmons, Brandon Ingram, Buddy Hield, Jamaal Murray, Marquese Chriss, Thon Maker, Kris Dunn, and Dragan Bender all off the board, and the Pistons likely felt comfortable with whomever fell to them at that point.

We are still waiting on who the Pistons will select with their 18th pick.
