The Detroit Pistons ended the season in disappointing fashion, losing 113-109 to the Orlando Magic.

The way the game played out was a fitting finale for the Detroit Pistons.

As has been the case in many games this season the Pistons found themselves with a massive early deficit, trailing the Magic by as much as 21 points.

However, a spirited second-half fightback saw the Pistons chip away at the lead and eventually get in front before falling away down the stretch.

Ish Smith was the leader of the comeback, pushing the pace up the floor and blowing by the defense multiple times.

Reggie Bullock‘s shooting off the bench was also critical, as was Boban Marjanovic‘s work on the offensive glass late in the fourth, which resulted in back-to-back and-ones for the big man.

Unfortunately, these performances went unrewarded as the Pistons were unable to shut down Aaron Gordon (32 points, 12 rebounds, 2 blocks) and Elfrid Payton (21 points, 5 rebounds, 13 assists).

The Pistons’ defence was non-existent as the Magic finished the game with 48 percent shooting from the field, 52 percent from the three-point line and topped it off by going 94 percent from the free-throw line.

This huge performance came just days after the Magic suffered their biggest loss in franchise history.

ISH SMITH. A. Ish Smith was the best player for the Pistons against the Magic and was the biggest reason they were able to fight back after falling 21 points behind. He had 20 points, dished out 10 assists and even pulled down 4 rebounds. His 1 of 6 shooting from behind the arc was a little ugly though.. PG. Detroit Pistons

Detroit Pistons. REGGIE BULLOCK. A+. Reggie Bullock was instrumental in pulling the lifeless Pistons back into the game in the second half. He caught fire from deep and knocked down 5 of 6 threes on his way to 17 points for the night. If Bullock can produce like this on a regular basis he could be a huge asset to the Pistons.. SG/SF

A. Boban Marjanovic put in yet another great performance to end the season. He had 14 points, 11 rebounds and 3 blocks for the night, and his work on the offensive boards was a massive reason the Pistons were able to take the lead late in the game.. C. Detroit Pistons. BOBAN MARJANOVIC
