On Tuesday we joined Dan Besbris of the Hoop Ball fantasy basketball podcast to talk about the Detroit Pistons and focused on the coming season.

On Tuesday afternoon I had the pleasure of joining Dan Besbris, host of the Hoop Ball fantasy basketball podcast, to talk about the Detroit Pistons. The podcast focuses primarily on fantasy basketball and it’s part of the Hoop-Ball.com website started by fantasy expert Aaron Bruski.

It’s been a while since I’ve gotten to talk Pistons on a podcast (other than Locked On Pistons, which I host, and you should subscribe to) and it was fun getting Dan caught up on all things Piston related.

We spoke about Kentavious Caldwell-Pope‘s coming pay day and focused on his development last season, primarily in the first half of the year when he appeared to be coming into his own. We discussed the cap situation, particularly regarding the structure of restricted free agency, and we dug into the team’s overall cap issues.

We also talked about Andre Drummond, Aron Baynes and Boban Marjanovic and spent a good deal of time on the topic of Drummond’s development and hopes for the coming season, with an emphasis on how Reggie Jackson‘s health plays a vital role in how the Pistons use him.

Finally, Ish Smith, Tobias Harris and Jon Leuer were discussed at length, and I expressed my hopes and concerns about all three players in depth.

Next: What if the Pistons don't re-sign KCP?
