The Detroit Pistons look to break a 5 game losing streak against the Boston Celtics at Little Caesar’s Arena. The last time they played the Detroit Pistons ended up winning 118-108 and breaking that huge streak of the Celtics.

After today’s game against the Celtics, the Detroit Pistons begin a streak of games where they should win the majority. Using these games to begin to catapult themselves back up the standings should be the aim. The Pistons are in a little bit of a slump having been on the wrong end of some close losses, and they can turn this around against a tough opposition in the Boston Celtics.

Piston Powered Performance Preview

Andre Drummond

Last time they played Andre Drummond was unstoppable on the boards, grabbing a whopping 22 for the game, but that’s not all he did! He also scored 26 points (10-12 from the field), dished out 6 assists and had 4 steals. Andre will be a key to the Detroit Pistons again and will be a big part in whether they come away with the victory.

The Boston Celtics don’t have a traditional center. Al Horford is the starter there and he isn’t the most competitive when it comes to rebounding; Andre should have the edge and needs to establish himself on the boards early. He’ll be able to get some easy buckets if he can assert himself on the glass.

Slowing down Kyrie Irving

Slowing down Kyrie Irving will be a massive factor in whether the Detroit Pistons are in with a shot. Kyrie has been averaging 24 points per game on the season and just a shade under 30 points per game (29.2) over his last 5 games.

Last time they played Kyrie managed 18 points but on 6-16 shooting thanks to Avery Bradley’s defence. The Detroit Pistons will look to Bradley again to try to slow down one of the most in form guards in the NBA currently.

Scoring

Both teams are averaging 104 points per game, with Boston boasting the best defense averaging 97.5 points against per game, with the Detroit Pistons conceding 102.7 points per game. So will the Detroit be able to score enough against a stingy defense to take the win?
