3. Blowing it Up

While I didn’t personally want to add this in here as owner Tom Gores has shown to have zero Basketball IQ as the owner of this great franchise, national media thinks Griffin’s time in Motown is nearing the end.

While I was scrolling through my feed on Twitter, I came across a video where analyst Dennis Scott predicted that the Pistons would be the five seed contingent on them not trading Griffin. I know that all of the Pistons fans lost their mind when the reigning Blake of the Year, according to Barstool’s Pardon My Take Blake Griffin, tweeted out the eye emojis. Those emojis, just as PMT and Griffin predicted, prompted flurries of trade rumors. Most of the Pistons fan community accepted that he gave Detroit his all and earned a move away, but obviously he’s still here.

With Reggie Jackson, Langston Galloway, and Drummond all becoming free agents this summer there could be a lot of action at the trade deadline. Jackson and Galloway’s $25 million combined expiring deal could be matched to add a good player.

Drummond could be dealt if he doesn’t want to re-sign. He has no ties to Detroit and the Pistons have no leverage over him so the Pistons will face a hard decision whether or not to trade him or risk it this offseason.

I’m not going to go much further into detail on this subject as we have plenty of stories about dealing players this season. But obviously the Pistons will miss the playoffs if we deal away one of our better players.
