The Detroit Pistons will almost certainly trade Derrick Rose before this year’s trade deadline.
The popular guard has not played particularly well this season but he can still be an impact bench scorer for the right team.
The market for Derrick Rose is still not set, as there are nearly two months before the trade deadline and a few more teams could get in on the action.
The Detroit Pistons would love for a bidding war to erupt over Rose, as they might be able to get a more favorable asset if there are multiple teams that think he could be the final piece.
Here are four teams who have been connected to Rose in rumors and will give fans an idea of what he might get in a trade.
We’ll start with the worst package and end with the best.
Detroit Pistons: Trading Derrick Rose to the Los Angeles Clippers
The Clippers have been rumored to be interested in Derrick Rose but I don’t see a match unless there is a third team involved.
The Clippers don’t have any 1st-round draft picks or young players the Pistons would be interested in, so they would need another team to facilitate this one.
It could happen but probably not in a straight up deal. The Detroit Pistons can do better.

Detroit Pistons: Trading Derrick Rose to the Chicago Bulls
The Chicago Bulls need a veteran guard and a reason for their fans to watch the games. Derrick Rose could provide both if the Pistons were to trade him back to his home team.
The Bulls are sniffing the playoff picture this year and might feel like a scorer like Rose could get them there.
Also, he is one of the most popular Bulls in history, so fans would tune in just to watch Derrick Rose play, something they are not doing right now in Chicago.
This deal would give the Detroit Pistons two young players on team-friendly deals who can either be roster-filler next season or potential players in the rotation.
Hutchinson is worth a look, as he is another long, positionless wing who could fit into the mold that the Pistons are currently building.
The Detroit Pistons would also get two second-round picks in this deal, so it has the combination of project players and draft assets that the Pistons are likely seeking in a Rose trade.
Could the Pistons send him home? Possibly, but I still think they can do better.

Detroit Pistons: Trading Derrick Rose to the Knicks
A lot of fans’ rightfully asked why in the world the Knicks would make such a trade.
My response was the same: Are you familiar with the New York Knicks?
If I were the Knicks I would run away from this deal as fast as possible but the Knicks are the Knicks so you can’t count on them to do the right thing.
Also, the Knicks are right in the thick of the playoff hunt in the Eastern Conference and they would desperately like to give their fans a reason to watch.
Derrick Rose gives them a marquee name and a guy who would help their bench. The Knicks might feel that they already have enough young players and are ready to try and start winning, in which case, they could make a move to get a veteran who can score.
If the Detroit Pistons can pry a first-round pick out of the Knicks or someone else, they will be ecstatic but Rose will either need to play better or there will need to be more teams involved to make it happen.
There is one other team that might be desperate enough to offer more.

Detroit Pistons: Trading Derrick Rose to the Miami Heat
The Miami Heat have not been good this season after their improbable run to the Finals.
Part of this is because they have been missing Jimmy Butler, who has only played seven games so far.
The Heat are definitely not going to give up on the season and probably still feel they can win the East again if things turned around.
Would they be willing to give up this much for Derrick Rose?
Probably not, but Nunn and a pick are probably a good place to start. This pick is well into the future, so Miami would be taking a risk and it would probably have to be heavily protected to make this work.
Whether Miami would ever give up a 1st for Derrick Rose is tough to gauge, as it really comes down to what their expectations are for this season.
Miami would probably be able to re-sign Rose on a reasonable deal and he would look great coming off their bench for a couple of more years.
The Detroit Pistons will have some options when it comes to trading Derrick Rose. If they could get a promising player or a first-round pick, they will be happy.
