Tom Gores still interested in Detroit Pistons, still the possible front-runner in sale of team

Vince Ellis of the Free Press caught up with Michigan native and California resident Tom Gores, who sat courtside at last night’s Pistons-Lakers game. Gores couldn’t comment on the negotiations to purchase the team, but still maintained his interest:

"He (Gores) was accompanied by his two daughters and was greeted by many well-wishers at halftime – including Marilyn Hauser, the executive vice president of Palace marketing, who attended the Rose Bowl on Saturday in nearby Pasadena …“I can’t tell you anything about that (the sale),” he said, “but I can tell you that I’m a big fan, and would I love to own the team? Absolutely.”"
