Rasheed interested in comeback?

Former Detroit Piston Rasheed Wallace retired after his one and only season with the Boston Celtics last year, but there are indications he might step back onto the court in an effort to win one more championship (belt).

According to Stephen A. Smith, who was a guest on the Dan Patrick Show, Wallace himself told him he’d like to give it another go at the Lakers:

"“I’m here to tell you that Rasheed Wallace will come out of retirement once the trading deadline expires in all likelihood because he wants another shot at the Lakers,”"

In the Fanhouse article linked above, Wallace’s agent is on the record already refuting the idea, saying that he has received no indication that Rasheed is interested in suiting up again in the NBA.

With the depth the Celtics have at the power forward and center positions and with Wallace’s noted lack of conditioning early in the season, I’d say the chances of a Rasheed comeback, as awsome as it might be to see him take on the Heat/Magic/Lakers, is pretty slim at this point.
