Fab Five inspired black shoes and socks for Ben Wallace’s Cuyahoga Community College team

Richard Hamilton already shared his Fab Five memories, and now Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press has Fab Five recollections from Tracy McGrady and Ben Wallace. I found one Wallace-related detail particularly interesting:

"Wallace talked about how his junior college team went out and got black shoes and socks. He wore No. 4, just like Webber, and one of his friends wore No. 5, just like Rose."

I wonder whether Wallace and his friend picked those numbers because of the Fab Five or whether they already had the uniforms and just enjoyed their the lucky overlap.
