Eli Zaret fired by Detroit Pistons

According to The Detroit News, the Detroit Pistons have fired Eli Zaret, who has worked as a Pistons sideline reporter for past five seasons. The team also apparently  let go of Vice President of Broadcasting Pete Skorich, a 30-year veteran of the Detroit Pistons.

Zaret was gracious when reached by the news, saying that the new management was “very smart,” and that ownership looked to go in a “different direction.” The only indication of what that direction might be is a comment from Zaret indicating the team is interested in social media and other online avenues.

In a post-lockout, new-world NBA, what do you think is the “new direction” you would want the team to take. Since we don’t have the chance to watch basketball why don’t we revolutionize the sport while we wait for its return? Post your ideas in comments.
