Detroit Piston center Ben Wallace pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor charges after a drunken driving in late September, according to multiple media reports. He pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle while intoxicated and possessing a firearm while operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. He had a felony gun possession charge dismissed. Wallace reportedly had a blood alcohol level of .08, nearly twice the legal limit.

As part of the plea, Wallace will be sentenced in circuit court, avoiding the wrath of district court judge Kimberley Small, who has a reputation as being hard on first-time drinking and driving offenders. Previously, she jailed former Michigan star Jalen Rose following a drunken driving arrest. Wallace will be sentenced Dec. 13.
