Would Pistons want Rajon Rondo? Um, yes

Chris Forsberg of ESPN:

"So would Ainge prefer that rival general managers stop calling about Rondo?"I always listen to calls and listen to what [their] ideas are, but we have no intentions of moving Rajon," Ainge said."

Vincent Goodwill of The Detroit News:

"If Rajon Rondo becomes available, expect the #Pistons to be among the first in line"

Rondo is an elite passer and defender and would be a huge upgrade for the Pistons, but he’d probably cost them Greg Monroe. If the Pistons sign Josh Smith (a longtime friend of Rondo) and Rondo is healthy, that would be more than fine by me. Rondo, Smith and Andre Drummond would fit very well together, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope would be a great start at filling in the wings.

But if Rondo becomes available,Boston will surely get plenty of offers. Even if they would accept a trade centered around Monroe for Rondo – and that’s a major if – the Celtics might get even more appealing offers.

There’s a whole lot to overcome between the present situation and Rondo becoming a Piston.
