Peyton Siva has agreed to terms with the Orlando Magic, a source told Yahoo Sports.
Peyton Siva will be brought to Magic camp on a non-guaranteed contract. Magic then will send him to Erie of the D-League.
The Pistons waived Siva because his contract was set to become guaranteed. Theoretically, they could have planned to re-sign him on a non-guaranteed deal.
Of course, that was not their intent.
They signed D.J. Augustin to replace Siva, bumping down Will Bynum – and maybe even Brandon Jennings – in the rotation. Siva might never have the size and skills to stick in the NBA, and his poor outside shot meant Stan Van Gundy wouldn’t be the one to take a chance developing him. Now, that’s confirmed.
