Who you callin’, Turkey? The Answer: Allen Iverson
By Editorial Staff
Former Detroit Piston Allen Iverson is close to signing a one-year deal with Turkish team Besiktas Cola Turka in Istanbul, according to Iverson’s manager, Gary Moore.
The deal could be worth as much as $2 million, according to reports. While this isn’t big news as far as the Pistons are concerned, I don’t think you can dismiss what Iverson’s arrival in Detroit meant as far as the changing of the guard for the Pistons. It meant Billups was gone, the remaining veterans quickly grew dispirited, Stuckey was thrust into a role he still has not fully secured and the “rebuilding” had finally begun. Plus, it gives me a reason to post these clips.
