Denver Nuggets want Nets to take Al Harrington and Renaldo Balkman

The latest holdup in the Carmelo Anthony trade is the Nuggets wanting to unload the lengthy contracts of Al Harrington and Renaldo Balkman, according to Chris Broussard of ESPN.

Logistically, Harrington is no problem. Just put him in a separate trade for the expiring contract of Sasha Vujacic.

But the Nuggets can’t just add Balkman to the trade Al Iannazzone of The Record detailed yesterday. The Nets would have to add Damion James or Kris Humphries, and I wonder where New Jersey will draw the line.

I’m getting less and less confident this deal will happen. Even if the Nets agree to take Harrington and Balkman, what will the Nuggets want next?
