Tayshaun Prince received an All-Defensive second team vote. Hurray!
Obviously, that’s not nearly enough to make an actual All-Defensive team. So, to nobody’s surprise the Pistons – after placing someone on an All-Defensive team every year between 2002 and 2008 – have gone three straight years without an All-Defensive team representative.
Prince also received a single second-team vote last year, and that was totally undeserved. He played just 49 games and his defense was pretty lacking in those.
This year? I wouldn’t have voted for him, but it’s not nearly as egregious. Prince’s defense bounced back quite a bit this season. He’s no longer the lockdown defender he once was, but he’s at least solid again.
