Jonas Jerebko not looking at overseas options
Although some NBA players, particularly young players without contracts for next season including DaJuan Summers and Sonny Weems, are looking closely at overseas options, Jonas Jerebko is not according to his agent. From Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press:
"Doug Neustadt, who represents Jerebko, said this week that an overseas assignment was not being considered.“Jonas views himself as an NBA player,” Neustadt said. “We are not looking to go over there.“If something comes up we will look at it, but we are not actively looking. We are not going over there just to go over.”"
Jerebko’s situation is a bit different than Summers simply because Jerebko will simply have more teams interested in him and, as a restricted free agent, there’s little doubt the Pistons would match any NBA offer he received. If Summers would’ve tried to wait out the lockout, there’s a chance he would’ve found limited interest because of his lack of playing time the last two seasons and by then, his options in Europe would’ve been more limited as well.
