Perry Farrell of the Detroit Free Press:
"Mike Woodson, who is a candidate for the Pistons’ head coaching job, is expected to interview Tuesday for the Minnesota Timberwolves’ head coaching position.Woodson was at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport tonight, according to a source. The Timberwolves fired coach Kurt Rambis last week.Woodson is awaiting word from the Pistons if he or Lawrence Frank will be hired to replace John Kuester."
Farrell has been all over the Woodson beat, even tracking him down at Detroit Metro Airport after he interviewed with the Pistons, so it’s a good bet that he’s in the know when it comes to Woodson. This will be the third head coaching job Woodson will be known to have interviewed for — he was a candidate in Houston before they hired Kevin McHale and he’s interviewed at least twice in Detroit. Lawrence Frank, seemingly the other finalist, interviewed in Toronto before Dwayne Casey was hired and he’s also rumored to be a target of the Knicks for an assistant coaching gig.
