Everyone who has watched a Pistons game this season can easily see that attendance is bad. But at least the Pistons leadership is realistic about things. Via Terry Foster of The Detroit News:
"(Palace President Dennis ) Mannion admits the product on the floor must be better to lure fans.“I am never one of those guys who expect people to come see a poor product on the court,” he said. “It’s about the base product. Yet at the same time I feel as if the entertainment part of it’s really good and if you are entertained and treated well, you can convince people that a live event is time well spent and your dollar is well spent. I think we are going to see an uptick in attendance as the team improves.”"
Honestly, I don’t think having entertainment attractions (no offense to Rob Base) are going to have a big impact on attendance, but I do respect that there are at least efforts being made to improve the in-arena experience, which has been a point of criticism the past couple seasons.
