Pistons donate plane to Northland College

facebooktwitterreddit

James Jahnke of the Detroit Free Press:

"The Detroit Pistons today donated their former team plane, a DC-9 aircraft named Roundball One, to the Northland Community & Technical College Foundation to support the college’s aerospace programs."

"The DC-9 aircraft served as the Pistons’ team plane in 1998-2010. The club’s latest Roundball One, a MD-20 aircraft, debuted last season."

Northland is in Minnesota, and especially with all of Tom Gores’ talk about supporting the community, is there not a Michigan school that could have used the plane? That’s a genuine question. I have no idea.

If not, bravo to the Pistons for helping Northland. If so, why not donate in the community?
