Rest easy Pistons fans — Darko Milicic plans to play in the NBA next season

Pistons fans may have thought that finally, after Minnesota amnestied Darko Milicic this summer, we wouldn’t have to the small yet persistent annoyance of knowing that somewhere he’s still collecting a paycheck to kind of play basketball. Not so fast my friends. From Chris Tomasson of Fox Sports:

"Marc Cornstein, agent for Darko Milicic, said client giving no thought to playing overseas next season. “No,’’ Cornstein said of the free-agent big man. “He will be back in the NBA.’’ The Miami Heat remain in the mix as a team looking at Milicic. However, Cornstein said Milicic is still looking at a number of NBA teams, and there’s no timetable yet as to when he might sign."

Hey, great. So not only will one of the biggest draft busts in sports history be playing in his 10th (!!) NBA season next year, he might be on a team that will give him a great shot to get his second championship ring.
