PistonPowered trade contest: Trading Jason Maxiell and Will Bynum

facebooktwitterreddit

As the NBA trade-deadline approaches, PistonPowered is holding a trade contest. (Unfortunately, there is no prize other than the honor of winning, which is a pretty great prize.)

Here’s how it works: You’re the Pistons’ newly hired assistant general manager, and Joe Dumars comes to you seeking trade ideas before the deadline. Here’s your first scenario:

Dumars: We probably won’t re-sign Jason Maxiell or Will Bynum this summer, but both have played fairly well this season. What can I get in a trade or trades for them that won’t compromise our flexibility this summer?

Email trades – one if you’re dealing Maxiell and Bynum together or two if you’re dealing them separately – with your name and your justifications to PistonPowered@gmail.com. The best trade ideas, as judged by us, will advance to the next round and receive a new assignment. The quality of your explanation won’t affect whether you advance, but it might sway our thinking. We’ll continue until only one assistant GM remains.

Don’t forget, any trade that doesn’t work under the Collective Bargaining Agreement will automatically fail, so check ESPN’s NBA Trade Machine. If you propose a trade that you believe is allowed even though the Trade Machine disagrees, please specify in your email why you think otherwise.

Check back later for to the submitted trades, the provided explanations and which advanced.
