The Hawks really need help at small forward and would have loved to see Rodney Hood make it past Phoenix. Atlanta though is in a unique position because of Kyle Korver though. They could use some help from the perimeter, but if the right small forward who likes to get to the rack is available, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Atlanta draft them.
Insert Jerami Grant.
He might be the flashiest player in this draft.
The question is can he flash some talent on the court, or is he another flash in the pan.
Grant possesses great athleticism and is one heck of a finisher around the rim. The Hawks could use a guy that gets to the rack with authority and finishes.
Once he gets the basketball, he has the ability to finish a play inside on either side of the block. He has great vision and speed toward the basket on the pick and roll.
His physicality too is going to get him to the line frequently. The Hawks could use that type of strength in the paint. Despite having Paul Milsap and Al Horford, Atlanta finished 21st in the league in points in the paint per game.
