When you think of the Grizzlies, the first thing that comes to mind is defense. It has been a good run for Memphis, but there is no doubt that they need to get some young talent in to help make them better.

Especially at small forward, where Mike Miller and Tayshaun Prince are well past their best days of basketball.

The Grizzlies will be looking for a small forward and McDaniels makes sense because he is a solid defender. Maybe the best in the draft at the small forward position. What makes him so special is the fact that he can protect the rim as a small forward and also has the hand speed and athletic ability to steal the basketball.

He can truly guard four different positions at the next level. It’s that type of defense that has him coveted by teams. His offensive game is still a work in progress, yet he is still athletic enough to get to the basket in transition. He also has a knack for blowing by defenders to get to the lane in isolation.

McDaniels fits the Grizzlies mold while giving them their first athletic wing in quite some time.
