After taking Dario Saric earlier in the round, now is the time the Jazz need to use this pick to solidify the shooting guard position and add some scoring.
C.J. Wilcox is a volume scorer and he is efficient at it. Most people see him as a role player in the NBA, but if he can perfect his defensive game he will have a more definite spot on a teams roster.
One thing is certain, Wilcox can flat out shoot. Draft Express breaks it down.
Wilcox is one of the best shooters in this draft class, as he made 43% of his catch and shoot jumpers on the season, which is second best among prospects in our Top-100 rankings. More than just a one-dimensional shooter with his feet set, he is excellent coming off screens (40%, 6th best in Top-100), and also makes a solid 35% of his pull-up attempts (8th best in Top-100).
One of the major issues with Wilcox though is that by the age of 23, he still wasn’t dominating competition at Washington. Yet I still feel he’s a good fit with the Jazz.
