 2. Milwaukee Bucks

Joel Embiid, C, Kansas

It must be nice for once as a Bucks fan to know that at this point of the draft, anyone the Bucks take will make the team better. Milwaukee has Andrew Wiggins atop their draft board but with recent reports suggest that they rate Dante Exum and Joel Embiid above Jabari Parker.

The Bucks finished 11th in the league in total rebounds a game, but 22nd in total rebound percentage. Beyond rebounding, Milwaukee desperately needs scoring in the post. They finished 17th in the league in points in the paint per game last season.

Embiid worked out for several teams last Friday and has really established himself as a top notch prospect throughout the last basketball season. Many believe that he could be the next Oscar Robinson or Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the Bucks. There is no doubting that Embiid is efficient. From two point territory, Embiid made 64% of his attempts last season and 71% of his attempts on his home floor.

Head coach Larry Drew is known for his transition style basketball and the best way to get the fast break center is with a solid lane closing rebounder that gets the  ball quickly up the floor. The Bucks will have a tough choice here but ultimately they win with either Joel Embiid or Jabari Parker.

The Bucks need help up front and the best answer is Joel Embiid.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Andrew Wiggins and Joel Embiid be the second duo in NBA history from the same school to go one and two in the draft.
